Time is a funny thing in your work, it always seems to be folding in on itself…it makes me uncomfortable, like I’m searching in the dark for some context to “make sense” of what I’m reading…there’s a lot of truth in disorientation.
That is an excellent point that I would likely not have noticed on my own. Thank you so much for your objectivity, Ms. Erin. Time is definitely wrinkled in my writing. Madeline L' Engle made a career out of it. Now all I need to do is remember there *is* such a thing as a Tesseract. Whatever cloven pine that might befall me [Shakespeare: The Tempest], I will have the ability to break free. All the Charles Wallaces on earth just whistling through the dark.
Erin, I feel this too. But wasn't able to articulate it. Kind of like I think I am grasping something and then it shifts again...like an un folding dream that doesn't unfold in any fathomable way yet is compelling.
Strong at the broken places 🌹💪 I think you'd love James Salter, especially "A Sport and a Pastime": he can conjure clean, hypnotic, world-within-a-moment spells of imagery too.
I know Salter well, and much respect for noting even the smallest slip of comparison. “All That Is,” is one of my writing “primers” - books I keep close to my working desk. Appreciate you much. +1
The feeling is reciprocated: love your work, and glad we could connect over a favorite. Damn sure you two could go sentence-for-sentence, and I'm not exaggerating in the slightest.
At times like these, I wish I had the handle on the whip of more than one language, so that I could begin down the path of mastery of another tongue/have something to say that doesn't automatically belie my American ignorance. You're doing just fine. :)))
I speak four languages, and honestly it’s a mess 😅 I don’t feel perfect in any of them. That’s why I write in English—it’s the language of the music, books, and movies I love. Creativity-wise, especially if you’re a writer, I think it’s better to stick to one language. I’m in awe of your vocabulary and syntax, beautifully done. 👏
Omg, why did you dig this up?! This is deeply embarrassing. 🫣 I remember realising I’d just encountered something so incredible and special, it fully kicked me in the gut. I desperately wanted to write the perfect, brilliant words to honour the greatness I’d just witnessed… but then reality hit, and this is what came out. ☺️🌹

absolutely beautiful, hypnotic
Thank you so much! What a compliment from someone with your poetic chops. Am standing in a pool of gratefulness. +1
aw shucks thanks. I’m really enjoying digging into your writing more.
I loved getting lost in your story, Christopher!
Oh my goodness, thank you! I can't imagine a nicer compliment. Keep on!
Love the magic of your work 💖
You're very kind. Thank you much. +1

Pure beauty
You would know. +1
The hymn thrums, you are a dream.
Thank you for continuing to believe in me, Ms. Kim. You are appreciated.
I can't put a finger on it, but it felt good to read this one !
That's good enough for me! :)))
At times like these, I wish English were my first language, just so I could shape a compliment worthy of your words. 🌹

I think you did a fine job[ and just wanted to make sure you knew it!]. 😇
That’s sweet of you. I do my best. ☺️ And it’s nice you still remember me, now that you’re famous. ☺️🌹
